SC Delhi scored three times in the final 20 minutes to defeat Mumbai City FC 3-2 at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday in an Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 fixture. The visitors were 2-0 down at half-time after early strikes from Muhammad Ajsal (6′) and Zothanpuia (27′).

Mumbai City started strongly, with Akash Mishra’s through ball finding Ajsal inside the opening four minutes; Ajsal’s initial effort was saved and Zothanpuia’s follow-up was blocked. Two minutes later Ajsal combined with Noufal in a one-two and finished after a defensive error by Lamgoulen Hangshing to open the scoring, which the report notes was Mumbai City FC’s first open-play goal of the season. SC Delhi responded with chances of their own: Duvan Viafara’s 12th-minute left-foot shot sailed over the bar, Hridaya Jain missed from close range in the 23rd, and Mohammad Azhar struck the crossbar from a right-footed curling attempt in the 35th minute.

The second half began with both teams on the attack and SC Delhi made a double change at the interval, introducing Richard Ndayishimaye for Mohammad Azhar and Ashutosh Mehta for Lamgoulen. Jain had another opening in the 58th minute but Clarence Fernandes’s sliding challenge denied him, and Jain was replaced by Farukh Choudhary soon after. In the 60th minute TP Rehenesh pushed a long-range attempt from Juan Pena onto the goalkeeper’s fingertips, and the match grew increasingly physical with skirmishes breaking out across the pitch.

SC Delhi made further alterations in the 71st minute, bringing on Augustine Lalrochana for Sourav and Carlos Fortes for Rodriguinho. Fortes had an immediate impact: in the 73rd minute Rehenesh spilled a corner, Ashutosh Mehta met the loose ball and teed up Fortes for a simple tap-in to cut the deficit to 2-1. Mumbai City reacted by replacing Lalnuntluanga with Brandon Fernandes in the 74th minute.

Late changes shaped the finish: SC Delhi introduced Akshat Mehra for Mohammed Aimen in the 88th minute, while Mumbai City made two substitutions in the 90th minute, with Yuvraj Kadam coming on for Noufal and Nathan Rodrigues replacing Ajsal. Mehra took a pass from Ndayishimaye and curled a shot that Rehenesh could only divert into his own net, levelling the score at 2-2 in the 90+2′ period.

Juan Pena completed the turnaround in the 90+4′ minute, sprinting forward, evading two Mumbai City defenders and slotting home a solo finish to give SC Delhi a 3-2 lead. The late sequence secured the visitors the win at the Mumbai Football Arena.
