Sciver-Brunt steers Trent Rockets into Hundred knockouts

Nat Sciver-Brunt struck an unbeaten 67 as Trent Rockets chased 122 to beat MI London by nine wickets at The Oval in The Hundred on 8 August 2026, booking a place in the competition's knockout stage.

Sciver-Brunt compiled her innings off 36 balls, hitting nine fours and one six, registering her first fifty of this year's tournament and her 11th in The Hundred overall as the Rockets reached 125-1 with 18 balls to spare. She shared a tournament-record second-wicket partnership of 118 with Beth Mooney, who finished 54 not out off 44 balls, to complete the victory after MI London were restricted to 121-5.

MI London posted 121-5 in their innings with Kira Chathli top-scoring on 31 from 27 deliveries. Samantha Bates finished with 3-13, removing the dangerous Hayley Matthews lbw for 10 early on and then taking two wickets in two balls to leave MI struggling at 49-4.

Bates trapped Chathli lbw before Nicola Carey was stumped off the next ball following a smart piece of glovework by Beth Mooney. The 30-year-old Aussie believed she had a hat-trick when Alice Monaghan was given out lbw, but that decision was overturned on review with the ball sliding down leg.

Alice Monaghan and Chinelle Henry led a late recovery for MI London, both finishing unbeaten on 27 off 21 balls as they helped the side to a respectable, if not especially challenging, total. Their partnership steadied the innings after the middle-order collapse initiated by Bates's spell.

The victory moves Trent Rockets four points clear of second-placed Southern Brave, who face Manchester Super Giants later in the day. The Rockets meet Southern Brave in their final group match, a game which could well decide who progresses directly to the final.
