On Nov. 1, 2026, in the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp offered updates on the remaining contract lengths for several top WWE names, including Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton and CM Punk.

WWE’s roster, the Stamford-based promotion noted, features veterans, rising stars and newcomers who appear across multiple weekly shows and are bound by multi-year deals. A major update on the status of marquee contracts emerged in the Fightful Q&A, where Sapp was asked about the potential retirement of top stars like Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins, all of whom have crossed the age of 40.

Addressing the former Shield members, Sapp said that The Visionary’s contract had three more years left. He added that WWE would permit The OTC to work a part-time schedule for as long as the company retains him, and he predicted that "he wouldn’t retire for another decade."

Sapp also discussed Randy Orton, identifying him as the 14-time World Champion and The Viper. He recalled that Orton had said in 2022 he wanted to wrestle for the next 10 years, and noted that Orton signed a five-year extension with WWE in 2024; as a result, Sapp reported Orton had at least three more years remaining on his current deal.

On CM Punk, Sapp pointed out that Punk signed a three-year contract when he returned to WWE in 2023 and that Punk has said the company was trying to get him to sign a new five-year deal. Sapp speculated that "The Best in the World will likely have a full-time farewell at the end of his current WWE contract."

The report said the promotion will likely see less frequent appearances from these veterans as they move into the later stages of their careers, and that WWE is developing new top-tier performers to fill those roles. The piece concluded by noting that observers will have to wait to see how the named stars negotiate any subsequent contracts.
