India and Pakistan will meet in a Under-19 Asia Cup Group A match in Oman on Sunday, November 8, with attention on India opener Aaryavir Sehwag and Pakistan fast bowler Ali Raza. Both sides began the tournament with wins, and India will be looking to respond to last year’s final defeat by Pakistan.

Pakistan beat India by 191 runs in the final in Dubai in December 2025 to claim their maiden Under-19 Asia Cup title, a result India will seek to avenge in the group phase. India opened their 2026 campaign with a 10-wicket victory over Nepal on Friday, while Pakistan began title defence with a nine-wicket win over hosts UAE.

Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, struck an unbeaten 70 off 52 deliveries against Nepal, hitting seven fours and four sixes as India chased 129 in 19.1 overs. Captain Lakshya Raichandani supported him with an unbeaten 53 off 63 balls; the pair put on an unbroken opening partnership to complete the chase without loss.

Ali Raza was one of the standout performers in last year’s final, dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for 26 after 10 deliveries; Sooryavanshi had struck three sixes before Hamza Zahoor took the catch. Ali finished that match with figures of 4/42, also removing Ayush Mhatre, Kanishk Chouhan and Deepesh Devendran.

Pakistan’s batting depth was on show against UAE, where opener Usman Khan remained unbeaten on 139 off 120 balls as Pakistan chased a target of 225 in 37.3 overs. Jahangir Bilal and Abdul Qadir also contributed in a line-up that will test India’s bowling attack.

India’s bowling unit produced notable returns against Nepal: Ishan Sood took 3/18 in his 10 overs. Mohit Ulva is expected to provide support with the new ball, while the spin pairing of Yashveer Goud and Arjun Rajput are options for the middle overs.

India named Lakshya Raichandani (C), Aaryavir Sehwag, V.K. Vineeth, Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan (VC), Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (WK), Rajat Baghel (WK), V.
