Sevilla are close to completing a £7.9m transfer for Scotland Under-21 striker Robbie Ure from Swedish side IK Sirius, with the 22-year-old due to undergo a medical at the club on Monday and expected to sign a five-year contract to lead the line at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Ure has attracted interest across Europe after a prolific season, scoring 20 goals and providing three assists in 20 matches in all competitions. He joined Sirius a year ago and has since recorded 31 goals and seven assists in 50 appearances for the Swedish club. His performances this campaign include 15 league goals, a tally that has helped Sirius build a 13-point lead at the halfway stage of the Allsvenskan table.

The Scottish forward began his senior career at Rangers, where he scored once in three appearances, before moving to Anderlecht in 2023 and making one senior appearance for the Belgian side. It is at Sirius that his goalscoring form has taken off, prompting the transfer interest reported from Sevilla.

Sevilla have offered Ure a five-year deal and the opportunity to be their principal striker at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, with the medical on Monday the next formal step in the move. The reported fee for the transfer is £7.9m.

Internationally, Ure is a Scotland under-19s international who has not yet declared his senior national-team allegiance and is also eligible for Ukraine. He told BBC Scotland last month his preference is to wait for a call-up to the Tartan Army.

If the medical is completed as planned on Monday, Ure is expected to finalise the five-year contract and join Sevilla as their new striker.
