Shami questions selectors' communication after being overlooked

Mohammed Shami said in a Times of India article published on October 21, 2026, that selectors had overlooked him for the Indian team.

He said he remains in peak fitness, has completed the previous domestic season and is concentrating on domestic cricket to stay prepared for future series and tournaments.

Shami welcomed Bhuvneshwar Kumar's return but voiced concerns about communications with selectors, asking, "Who will talk to me, and why?" He also emphasised loyalty and dedication to his team, Bengal.
