Shapath Bharadwaj’s wooden gun and Nano rides took him to Asian Games

Shapath Bharadwaj will represent India in trap shooting at the Asian Games, the Times of India reported on 27 September 2026.

Bharadwaj fell in love with shooting at nine after watching his elder brother train. His father, S Raju, supported the pursuit and had a carpenter make a wooden dummy gun for dry practice. Four times a week he travelled from Meerut to the Karni Shooting Range in a Nano, studying in the back seat.
