Ayush Shetty and PV Sindhu advanced to the pre-quarterfinals at the BWF World Championships on August 19, 2026, while Lakshya Sen and Unnati Hooda were eliminated.
Shetty beat Dumindu Abeywickrama in straight games and will face Alwi Farhan next. Sindhu defeated Wen Yu Zhang in straight games.
Lakshya Sen suffered a three-game upset against Garret Tan. Unnati Hooda lost a close battle to Michelle Li, and India also progressed in mixed and men's doubles.
