Shillong Lajong began the IFL 2026-27 campaign with a victory over Mohammedan SC and enter this match having finished last season as runners-up to Diamond Harbour FC. Recent domestic form in the Mizo Premier League saw Chanmari positioned second in the points table behind Aizawl FC, and the visitors will target maximum points from this away fixture.
