Shree Charani reaches career-best 804 as Deepti Sharma rises to No.2 in ICC Women’s T20I rankings

Shree Charani retained the top position in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings released in Dubai on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and reached a career-best rating of 804, while Deepti Sharma climbed to second place.

Charani’s 4/20 in the Women's T20 Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka pushed her above the 800-point mark for the first time to a career-best 804. Those 804 points are the highest rating points ever achieved by an Indian in the ICC rankings for both batters and bowlers, surpassing Mithali Raj’s previous record of 780 points in the batting rankings in 2011, and leave Charani two points shy of the highest women’s T20I bowling rating held by Australia’s Megan Schutt from November 2018.

Deepti Sharma moved up four places to second after finishing the Asia Cup as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 14 scalps. India’s bowling corps received further recognition in the updated lists with additional upward movements among other bowlers.

Seamer Nandani Sharma climbed 10 places to 94th following an impressive Asia Cup with the ball. Leg-spinner Prema Rawat recorded one of the biggest weekly jumps, rising 50 places to 96th in the bowlers’ rankings.

In the batting tables, Shafali Verma advanced from seventh to sixth after finishing the Asia Cup as the leading run-scorer with 236 runs, including scores of 64 in the semifinal and 68 in the final. Verma now has 741 rating points, her highest total since October 2021.

Verma sits one place and four rating points behind teammate Smriti Mandhana, who is fifth on 745 points after scoring 213 runs in five innings at the Asia Cup. Shafali Verma also moved up five places to 15th in the all-rounders’ rankings, reaching a career-best 221 rating points.
