Siege Storm, Prokofiev, Winfield, Act Of Kindness and The Archer turn in notable morning works in Bengaluru

Siege Storm, Prokofiev, Winfield, Act Of Kindness and The Archer caught the eye when the horses were exercised in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning (Sept 23). The session included timed gallops from 600m to 1,600m and gate practice on the inner sand.

The morning works produced a sequence of recorded times alongside jockeys’ names across multiple distances, with several horses described as moving easily or showing pleasing displays. Distances covered in the workout chart included 600m, 1,000m, 1,200m, 1,400m and 1,600m, while a separate gate-practice programme featured 1,200m and 1,400m jumps on the inner sand.

At 600m African Gold (R. Pradeep) clocked 39 and was reported to have strode out well. Stud Poker (Girish) did 45.5 and was noted to have moved on the bit, Irish Coffee (Anish) recorded 45 and was described as easy, Routing Run (Prabhakaran) and Qualify (rb) both posted 43 and finished together, and Iconic (Darshan) went 44 and finished five lengths ahead. Additional 600m works included Oxytocin (Anish) 44, Ashwa New York (rb) 43, and Astraeus (Laxman S) 45, with Ashwa New York said to have pleased and Astraeus to have been easy.

In 1,000m and related pieces, Xanthos (Darshan) finished three lengths ahead of Super Charm (rb) with a line showing 1-16, 600/43.5; Haboob (rb) and Conquistador (Salman) were level on a 1-14.5, 600/43.5 line. Over 1,200m, Kiss Of Grey (Prabhakaran) and Shining Ways (Darshan) recorded 1-21, 1,000/1-5.5, 600/38 with the former finishing four lengths ahead.

Act Of Kindness (Girish) delivered a noted 1-25, 1,000/1-10.5, 600/41 and was called a fine display, while Echo Of Hooves (Saddam H) and Evolvita (Darshan) worked to a 1-29.5, 1,000/1-13, 600/42 line after Echo Of Hooves started five lengths behind and finished level. Darringer (rb) posted 1-30, (1,200-600) 42 and was eased up, and Renoir (Shinde) had 1-25, 1,000/1-12, 600/46 and was eased up.

At 1,400m Star Studded (Saddam H) came from six lengths back to finish two lengths ahead over Gordon (Darshan) on a 1-43.5, 1,200/1-27.5, 1,000/1-12.5, 600/43 line. Siege Storm (Chetan) recorded 1-36.5, 1,200/1-22.5, 1,000/1-10, 600/43 and was described as a pleasing display; Arc Of Life (Darshan) and Gold Empire (Saddam H) moved impressively to 1-44.5, 1,200/1-27.5, 1,000/1-12.5, 600/43. Prokofiev (Chetan) posted 1-40, 1,200/1-25, 1,000/1-10, 600/42 and was said to be in fine nick, while Bulletproof (P. Trevor) 1-46, 1,200/1-29.5, 1,000/1-14, 600/44 and Aquastic (P. Trevor) 1-44, 1,200/1-28, 1,000/1-13.5, 600/43 were both reported as moving well.

In the 1,600m pieces Moonveil (P. Trevor) posted 2-0, 1,400/1-44, 1,200/1-29.5, 1,000/1-14.5, 600/44.5 and was said to have moved with plenty in hand; Theos (P. Trevor) did 1-57, 1,400/1-41, 1,200/1-27, 1,000/1-12.5, 600/44 and was recorded as moving fluently. Winfield (Aleemuddin) showed 1-56, 1,400/1-39.5, 1,200/1-25, 1,000/1-10, 600/42 and was described as having moved attractively.

Gate practice on the inner sand included Rojo (Laxman S) and Agrador (R. Pradeep) on 1-22.5, (1,200-600) 40, who took a smart jump and finished level, and The Archer (P. Trevor) on 1-20, (1,200-600) 40.5, who jumped out smartly. Other inner-sand works were Amazing Attraction (Salman) and Icing (Vivek) 1-26.5, (1,200-600) 42.5; Bay View (rb) and OnThe Rise (rb) 1-33, (1,200-600) 42 with the latter planted at the gates; Lex Luthor (rb) 1-32.5, (1,200-600) 45.5; and Vibrant Queen (Chetan) and Agera (Anish) 1-22, (1,200-600) 42. The 1,400m gate jumpers included Master Way (P. Mani) 1-38, (1,400-600) 51 and Magnus (Shinde) and Southern Force (rb) 1-37.5, (1,400-600) 51.5 with Magnus finishing a distance ahead.
