Simi Singh returns to Mohali after wife's liver donation and opens cricket academy

Simranjit "Simi" Singh returned to Mohali after surviving acute liver failure and receiving a partial liver donation from his wife, the Times of India reported on October 2, 2026.

Singh left India in 2006 to pursue hotel management and later found an unexpected second career in cricket. He played for Ireland at the 2022 T20 World Cup. His return brings a 20-year journey to an end, and he has opened an academy in Mohali where he is honing young talent.
