P.V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen won the women’s and men’s singles crowns respectively at the Hylo Open Super 500 in Saarbrucken on Sunday, November 1, 2026, each prevailing in straight games; Sindhu beat Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt 21-12, 21-14 and Lakshya defeated Jonatan Christie 21-17, 21-10.

Double Olympic medallists P.V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen entered the week with recent achievements to their names: Sindhu is a former world champion who won the Japan Open in July and finished runner-up at the French Open last week, while Lakshya had won the Australian Open and reached the Hong Kong Open final in 2025.

Sindhu produced a dominant performance against eighth seed and world No. 25 Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt, closing the final 21-12, 21-14 in 39 minutes with measured strokeplay described in the report as showing excellent control and precision. She reflected on her approach after the match, saying: “It was important for me to give my 100% irrespective of who the opponent was. We’ve played a lot of times and for me it was important that I focus on every point. It’s just not about the whole game, but every point mattered to me. I took the lead from the beginning and didn’t give her a chance.”

With the win, the World No. 8 Sindhu earned 9,200 ranking points to strengthen her bid for a place in the season-ending World Tour Finals.

Lakshya Sen, who entered the final with a 3-4 head-to-head record against Jonatan Christie, made a strong start and remained in control en route to a 21-17, 21-10 victory over the Indonesian. He commented on the personal significance of the title, saying: “It has been quite some time since I won a tournament, so it feels good. Couple of first-round losses affect you but the way I played here gave me a lot of confidence.”

Sindhu also spoke about her broader feelings after the week, adding: “This gives me a lot of boost, a lot of confidence. I’m happy that things are going according to plan. I’m very grateful and thankful to my whole team. Everyone has worked really hard. I know there were days when you’re absolutely low, but still your team is there to pump you up. It’s been an amazing week and I think it’s time to go back and celebrate now. It has been an amazing two weeks.”

Sindhu’s title at the Hylo Open, and the 9,200 ranking points she gained, bolster her pursuit of qualification for the season-ending World Tour Finals, while Lakshya leaves Saarbrucken having ended a period without tournament victories and cited renewed confidence from his performance.
