Sindhu beats Anmol 21-13, 21-16 to reach Hylo Open final in Saarbrucken

Double Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu defeated compatriot Anmol Kharb in straight games in the women’s semifinals of the Hylo Open Super 500 in Saarbrucken on Saturday (October 31, 2026). Sindhu won 21-13, 21-16 in a 32-minute match to advance to the tournament final.
Double Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu entered the match on the back of a runner-up finish at the French Open last week. The win in Saarbrucken sent her into her second final in as many weeks. The result continued the form she carried from the previous tournament.
Anmol Kharb, 19, came into the semifinal ranked World No. 53 and was contesting only her second Super 500 semifinal. She had previously reached the last four at the Arctic Open last year. Sindhu and Anmol had met once before at the Syed Modi India International in 2024, where Sindhu recorded a straight-game victory.
Sindhu applied pressure through attacking play, precise net exchanges and a broader range of strokes that limited Anmol’s opportunities to seize control. Those elements of Sindhu’s game were decisive in preventing sustained resistance during the match. The combination of tactics and execution produced a lopsided semifinal scoreline.
In the men’s draw, Lakshya Sen defeated France’s Toma Junior Popov 21-17, 21-13 to reach the men’s final. Sen’s straight-games victory secured his place in the concluding match of the event.
Sindhu will contest the women’s final of the Hylo Open Super 500 following her semifinal victory in Saarbrucken.
