Smriti Mandhana moves to second on all-time women’s international run-scorers list during Women’s Asia Cup 2026

Smriti Mandhana moved into second place on the all-time list of women's international run-scorers during the first match of the Women's Asia Cup 2026, surpassing Suzie Bates to reach 10,756 career runs.

Women’s cricket has expanded significantly across formats, with batters taking a larger role and accumulating substantial career totals. The game’s modern stars have pushed scoring benchmarks while many long-serving players have compiled runs over hundreds of international appearances. The ranking of top run-scorers has shifted considerably over the last decade. Despite Australia’s overall success in international cricket, none of the top five run-scorers hail from that country.

Stafanie Taylor occupies fifth place on the all-time list and is described as a prolific all-rounder for the West Indies. The 35-year-old has played 179 ODI matches and scored 6,339 runs, including 10 centuries and 42 half-centuries. In T20Is she has featured in 139 matches for 3,666 runs, taking her combined total to over 10,000 runs.

Charlotte Edwards is fourth on the list with 10,273 runs from 309 international appearances, having represented England in all three formats. Her career tally comprises 1,676 runs in 23 Tests, 5,992 in 191 ODIs and 2,605 in 95 T20Is, and she finished her career with thirteen international centuries. She remains the highest run-scorer in England women’s cricket history.

Suzie Bates finished her international career with 10,740 runs across 370 innings after more than 20 years in the game. Bates is the leading run-scorer in Women's T20Is with 4,758 runs and scored 5,982 runs in 184 ODIs, including thirteen hundreds and a highest score of 168. She made a record 186 T20I appearances and also registered a century in the shortest format.

Smriti Mandhana has reached 10,756 international runs in 301 matches, with 5,411 runs in ODIs, 4,557 in T20Is and 788 in red-ball cricket. The Indian southpaw has compiled 17 international centuries — described as the joint-most by any cricketer in international cricket — and has also recorded 75 half-centuries.

Mithali Raj remains the all-time leader with 10,868 runs from 333 international matches. Her ODI total of 7,805 runs is stated as the highest career aggregate in the 50-over format; she scored 699 runs in 12 Tests, including one century, and made 2,364 runs in 89 T20Is while averaging over 50 in ODIs.

Mandhana is reported to be only 113 runs behind Mithali Raj’s total and, as the only active player among the five across all three formats, is likely to surpass the former India skipper.
