Sony Sports Network to broadcast Kabaddi at Asian Games 2026 in India
Sony Sports Network will broadcast Kabaddi matches at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with the Games having begun on Saturday, September 19. The Kabaddi competition is scheduled to run from September 21 to September 26.
The Asian Games 2026 features 45 countries and regions competing across 43 sports. India’s contingent won 107 medals, including 28 gold medals, at the Hangzhou Games 2022 — the most by India at the Asian Games. This year India will try to do even better than last edition and break even more records.
The Indian Kabaddi teams will look to defend both of their gold medals in the men’s and women’s events. Expectations for a gold medal from the Indian kabaddi teams are highest, and supporters will accept nothing less than gold.
Since the introduction of Kabaddi at the Asian Games, India have won 11 gold medals, along with 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. Both the men’s and women’s teams failed to win the gold medal in 2018 but bounced back to win gold medals in the next competition and will look to do it again this time.
The Sony Sports Network has the broadcasting rights for the Asian Games 2026 in India. Kabaddi matches will be telecast live on Sony Sports 1, Sony Sports 2, and Sony Sports 5 TV channels in India.
In regional languages, matches will be broadcast on Sony Sports 3 (Hindi) and Sony Sports 4 (Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada). The live streaming of the Asian Games 2026 will be available on Sony LIV.
