South Africa v Australia: first men’s Test, day three at Kingsmead

South Africa and Australia are contesting the first men's Test at Kingsmead Cricket Ground, with day three's play scheduled to start at 9.30am local / 6.30pm AEDT.

A day-two report said Australia's decision to ask Nic Maddinson to open in Durban was a bust and that it pushed Matthew Renshaw down to number five. The report added that the Queenslander scored 190, returning after 10 years on the periphery to the centre of the spotlight, and described the innings as having saved Australia from peril, settled them into stability and lifted them to dominance.
