Sporting Club Delhi have completed a five-player foreign contingent ahead of the 2026-27 Indian Super League season, adding overseas options across defence, midfield and attack.

SC Delhi enter the new campaign after a debut ISL season in 2025-26 that ended with a 12th-place finish; they recorded two wins, five draws and six defeats from 13 matches, scoring 13 and conceding 17 for a total of 11 points. The season included the club’s first-ever ISL victory, a 2-0 win over Kerala Blasters, a four-match unbeaten run and a final-day 2-1 defeat to Mohun Bagan Super Giant. The squad’s pre-season form included a run to the semi-finals of the 2026 Durand Cup.

Nigerian defender Nduka Junior, 23, is listed primarily as a right-sided centre-back with experience playing in both a back four and a three-man defence; his passing is cited as allowing him to step into midfield and he can also cover at right-back. The profile notes Nduka has set-piece ability, having taken penalties and direct free-kicks during his time at Remo Stars.

Colombian centre-back Duván Viáfara, 28, is described as a naturally left-footed defender who has built his game around physicality, aerial ability and composure in possession, with professional experience in Colombia, Venezuela and the United States. Viáfara featured in SC Delhi’s Durand Cup defence that kept defending ISL Champions East Bengal scoreless for 90 minutes in the semi-final.

Colombian attacking midfielder Juan Peña provides a creative option behind and around the forwards, with a profile centred on taking defenders on, carrying the ball into dangerous areas and creating chances. Peña scored twice in SC Delhi’s 7-1 victory over Indian Air Force — one goal described as created through individual skill and finished powerfully — and operated in central midfield in the Durand Cup semi-final against East Bengal.

Burundian midfielder David Richard Ndayishimiye, 22, is capable of playing as a central or defensive midfielder and is noted for receiving the ball under pressure using close control and quick turns to escape opponents. His profile also highlights his ability to cover ground and contribute defensively by pressing, intercepting passes or protecting the backline.

Brazilian forward Rodriguinho provided the most prolific Durand Cup attacking return among the foreigners, scoring five goals in a 7-0 win over Defenders FC — including a hat-trick inside the opening 13 minutes — and adding goals against Indian Air Force and FC Raengdai in the quarter-final. His movement inside the penalty area, one-on-one confidence and tendency to drop away from centre-backs or drift wide before attacking the box are emphasised in his profile.

The new Indian Super League season will start on 10th October, 2026. The Head Coach of SC Delhi is Tomasz Tchórz.
