Sports Ministry forms task force in India for revival and development of Formula 1

On September 15, 2026, the Sports Ministry constituted a task force in India for the revival and development of Formula 1.

The task force members include Kunal, the Joint Secretary, Department of Sports; the Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce; the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism; representatives from CBIC and CBDT, Department of Revenue; representatives from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra state governments; representatives from Buddh International Circuit (BIC) and Madras International Circuit (MIC); the President/Secretary General of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI); a technical expert nominated by FMSCI; and any other member co-opted by the Chairperson based on requirement.
