Sri Lanka name squad for first Test against India in Galle; Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka ruled out

Sri Lanka have announced their squad for the first Test against India at Galle International Stadium, which begins on August 15, and Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka have been ruled out.
The selection covers the opening match of a two-Test series between Sri Lanka and India, with the second Test scheduled to start on August 23 at SSC Cricket Ground in Colombo. Sri Lanka made the announcement while managing injuries to some senior players. The squad was presented specifically for the first Test.
Dhananjaya de Silva (C) leads the side; the squad includes Lahiru Udara and Nishan Madushka. Kamindu Mendis (VC), Dinesh Chandimal and Pasindu Sooriyabandara were also named.
Sonal Dinusha, Niroshan Dickwella (WK) and Ramesh Mendis made the cut. The remaining selections are Prabath Jayasuriya, Keshara Nuwantha and Milan Rathnayake.
Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Kumara and Vishwa Fernando were included in the group. Dilshan Madushanka completes the list of players announced for the first Test.
