Staria, Kavya and Invincible Force draw attention in Pune morning gallops
Staria, Kavya and Invincible Force were among the horses that caught the eye during morning exercise at Pune on Monday, Aug. 31. The session featured timed gallops and inner-sand gate practice across multiple distances.
Workouts ranged from 600m to 1,400m and included a 1,000m gate-practice series on the inner sand; the report lists riders and split times for each effort. Observers recorded finishing margins and brief notes on each horse’s motion or response during the exercises.
At 600m, Cornucopia (Saurav) and Crimson (Vishal) covered the distance in 42, with Cornucopia judged the better of the pair; Sporting Alice (Shahrukh) completed 600m in 41 and was described as easy.
In the 800m sets, Skandha (T.S. Jodha) ran 53 with a 600/39 split and worked freely, while We Still Believe (Bhawani) recorded 52, 600/39 and was said to have moved well. Aries (app) posted 53, 600/39 and moved freely; Sixty Four Squares (C.S. Jodha) and Magical Star (Dashrath) did 52, 600/39 with the former finishing four lengths clear. Paloma (Yash) ran 52, 600/38 and moved well; Rainbow Connection (Kaviraj) was 55, 600/41 and moved fluently; Lumineer (Yash) and Sky Bound (S.J. Sunil) did 53, 600/40 with Lumineer two lengths superior.
Over 1,000m, Invincible Force (Yash) and Abhyankar (S.J. Sunil) recorded 1-4 with 800/50, 600/38, with Invincible Force moving well and finishing a distance ahead. Staria (S. Kamble) and Azaadi (Dashrath) ran 1-4, 800/50, 600/37, with Staria moving impressively and finishing three lengths ahead. Other 1,000m efforts included Age Of Reason (Hamir) and Wise Approach (C.S. Jodha) 1-10, 800/54, 600/40 (moved level freely); Asterion (Bhawani) 1-9, 800/54, 600/39 (moved freely); Dream Seller (S. Kamble) 1-5, 800/51, 600/38 (moved well); and Bravo Zulu (C. Umesh) and Valtat (Merchant) 1-6, 800/52, 600/38 with Bravo Zulu finishing a distance ahead.
At longer distances, Golden Dancer (Mosin) completed 1,200m in 1-21 with 1,000/1-7, 800/53, 600/41 and was reported to have moved nicely. In the 1,400m work, Kavya (Parmar) recorded 1-33, 1,200/1-18, 1,000/1-4, 800/50, 600/37 and was described as having moved attractively; Endurance (Yash) did 1-37, 1,200/1-22, 1,000/1-8, 800/54, 600/41 and responded well.
Gate practice on the inner sand over 1,000m saw Sky Full Of Stars (A. Gaikwad) clock 1-7 with 800/53, 600/40 and jump out well. Ironheart (Prasad) and Fantastica (app) were 1-11 with 600/43, Ironheart finishing three lengths in front; Philatelist (C. Umesh) and Pour Me A Peg (Merchant) ran 1-13, 800/56, 600/40 with Philatelist five lengths ahead. Snow Girl (app) and Aegean Sea (Shelar) went 1-9, 800/54, 600/41 with Snow Girl well clear, and Hiranyamayee (Merchant) completed 1-11, 600/44 and was easy.
