Stud Poker and Caccini impress in Engaluru morning workouts

ENGALURU: Stud Poker and Caccini impressed during the morning track exercises on Wednesday, August 26, at the local training gallops. The session featured timed works across distances from 600m to 1,600m and involved a number of previously named runners and riders.
Several jockeys were aboard during the drills, including Shreyas, Ritesh G, Rajesh K, Reza, D. Patel, Antony, Shinde and Salman, with horses assigned to specific distance programmes. The reports recorded split times and brief notes on each horse’s movement and effort.
Over 600m, Gachchhatu (Shreyas) covered the distance in 39 and "Strode out well," while Shadai (Ritesh G) clocked 39.5 and "Stretched out well."
A second set of 600m efforts produced the following: Shutterfly (Shreyas) 47, "Moved on the bit"; Lockheed (Rajesh K) 46.5, "Easy"; Lasya (Reza) 42.5, "Stretched in the last part"; War Queen (Rajesh K) 45, "Shaped well"; and N R I Millennium (rb) 47, "Easy."
At 1,000m, Black Rainstorm (rb) posted 1-16 with a 600/45.5 split and was reported to have "Moved freely," while Count Basie (D. Patel) recorded 1-12 with a 600/43 and was said to have "Worked well."
In the 1,200m session, Stud Poker (Antony) registered 1-25, with 1,000/1-10.5 and 600/41 and was described as "A fine display," and Regal Aristocracy (D. Patel) returned 1-30 with 1,000/1-12 and 600/43.5 and was noted as "Pleased."
The longer gallops included Flavianus (Shinde) at 1,400m in 1-44 with intermediate splits 1,200/1-29.5, 1,000/1-14.5 and 600/45.5 and the comment "In fine trim," and Evermore (Salman) at 1-46 with 1,200/1-30, 1,000/1-15.5 and 600/46 and the note "Moved freely."
Caccini (Shinde) completed the 1,600m work in 1-58 with progressive splits 1,400/1-40.5, 1,200/1-25.5, 1,000/1-10.5 and 600/43 and was recorded as having "Moved fluently."
