Sunrisers Leeds overcome Issy Wong-inspired fightback to reach The Hundred final

Sunrisers Leeds beat Southern Brave at The Kia Oval in the women's The Hundred Eliminator on 14 August 2026 to advance to the final at Lord's. They chased down 115 to win by five wickets.

Southern Brave posted 114-7 from their 100 balls, a total built around Lizelle Lee's 32 off 25 balls and contributions from Charli Knott, who made 25 off 21. Brave managed only 13 boundaries and played 41 dot balls in an innings described as unusually defensive; Maia Bouchier scored 15 off 17, Laura Wolvaardt was out for eight and captain Sophie Molineux finished 22 not out off 24.

Sunrisers reached 116-5 in 89 balls in reply, with Lauren Winfield-Hill top-scoring for them with 37. The chase had appeared under control at 95-3 with 25 balls remaining until Issy Wong triggered a late surge of pressure by taking two wickets in two balls.

Wong finished with figures of 3-21, her second dismissal a key one as she bowled Lauren Winfield-Hill for 37 before trapping Sunrisers skipper Dani Gibson lbw with her next delivery. Those strikes briefly tightened the contest and gave Brave renewed hope.

Deepti Sharma then held firm, finishing unbeaten on 28, and Jess Jonassen struck the boundary off Lauren Bell that secured victory with 11 balls to spare. Sunrisers sealed the five-wicket win to book their place in the showpiece.

Bowling returns for the match included Baker 2-13 and Lauren Bell 1-14. The report noted that Bell and Wong were unlucky to be on the losing side despite their effective spells.

Sunrisers will now meet the Trent Rockets in the final at Lord's on Sunday.
