Suryakumar Yadav returned to competitive cricket for MIG Cricket Club in the MCA President’s Cup T20 Tournament at the MIG Cricket Club on Sunday, October 11. He featured against Muslim United Sports Club as his side chased a target of 154.

Mumbai cricket is back in action with the MCA President’s Cup providing opportunities for several local players to remain in the spotlight during the domestic season. The competition is being used by Indian players to stay active ahead of upcoming international assignments. Matches in the event also serve as match practice for experienced players seeking to regain form after breaks from competitive cricket.

In his outing for MIG Cricket Club, Suryakumar struck early but was unable to convert that momentum into a large score. He scored 17 runs off 10 balls. During the innings he hit three boundaries before his dismissal.

Suryakumar was dismissed when he was stumped off Karan Bhadra’s bowling. The appearance was his first competitive match since the T20 Mumbai 2026 tournament in June.

His return to domestic action follows his omission from Mumbai’s squad for the opening round of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27. Mumbai announced a 16-member squad for that round under captain Siddhesh Lad, and Suryakumar was not included despite being available.

Across first-class cricket, Suryakumar has scored 5,758 runs in 86 matches at an average of 42.33. That total includes 14 centuries and 30 half-centuries. He has played only one Test for India, scoring eight runs in his only innings, and he last represented India in the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand.

The MCA President’s Cup T20 Tournament continues to provide a platform for local players and those preparing for international duties to gain match time. Remaining fixtures in the competition will offer additional opportunities for participants to press their claims.
