Former Asian Games heptathlon champion Swapna Barman was provisionally suspended by NADA after testing positive for the anabolic steroid Boldenone, the Times of India reported on August 20, 2026.
Barman, 29, became India’s first Asian Games heptathlon gold medallist at Jakarta 2018.
She represented India at the 2016 Olympics and retired earlier this month, citing persistent injuries and physical strain.
