Swapnil Asnodkar appointed Kerala senior men’s coach for 2026-27 season

Swapnil Asnodkar has been named coach of the Kerala senior men’s cricket team for the 2026-27 domestic season, the Kerala Cricket Association announced in Thiruvananthapuram on September 22, 2026. The appointment was confirmed by the KCA as part of a wider set of coaching and selection panel changes.

Asnodkar, described by the association as a former Goa First Class cricketer, was chosen after the KCA considered his experience leading the Kerala under-23 cricket team. The decision places him in charge of the senior men’s squad for the upcoming 2026-27 domestic campaign.

Devika Palshikar will continue as coach of the senior women’s cricket team, while former India cricketer Karuna Jain has been appointed coach of the Kerala under-19 women’s team and named mentor of the KCA Women’s Academy. Those appointments form the KCA’s set-up for the women’s pathway.

Rohan Prem, a former Ranji Trophy captain, has been appointed chairman of the senior selection committee, with former Ranji skipper V.A. Jagadeesh and P.U. Anthaf named as the other panel members. The new senior selection panel will handle player selections for the men’s senior side.

Former Kerala all-rounder K. Chandrasekhara has been installed as chairman of the junior selection committee, with K.R Sreejith and Ranji Philip serving as the other members. That junior panel will oversee selection matters for age-group teams.

The women’s selection committee, headed by E. Rency with Rani Varghese and Anjana Paul as members, will continue in place for another season. The KCA made the series of appointments public on September 22, 2026, in Thiruvananthapuram (published 06:04 pm IST).
