Tanvi Patri became the first Indian woman to reach the badminton semifinals at the Youth Olympics, in a report published on November 4, 2026.

She advanced after defeating Thailand's Kakanik Kungkaew and had earlier won all three of her group matches.

Her next opponent is Japan's Yuzuno Watanabe, and the report said the match represents a chance for a gold medal.
