Teddy Wilson called into Australia squad for November Nations Championships Tests

Teddy Wilson has been named in Australia's squad for November's Nations Championships Tests on 23 October 2026; the 24-year-old scrum-half is included as cover behind first-choice nine Ryan Lonergan.
Wilson, the son of former Wallabies captain and 1999 Rugby World Cup winner David Wilson, captained his country at the 2023 Under-20 World Championships and has been in fine form for the Waratahs; he also won an Australian junior boxing title as a 13-year-old.
David Wilson played 79 times for Australia and started at open-side flanker in their World Cup final win over France at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in 1999; he moved to Harlequins in 2000 and has subsequently moved into business, and Teddy said that his father's 1999 match jersey is on display at the family home. "Dad doesn't really put much pressure on myself, he's been there and done that, obviously, so he definitely tells me a few things and helps me a lot," said Teddy. "He just lets me play my game and if he needs to say something, he will."
Wilson is one of several players in the squad with family ties to former Wallabies; Michael Lynagh's son Tom was Australia's starting fly-half in all three Tests against the British and Irish Lions last year. Max Jorgensen, Angus Bell and Josh Nasser, included in the group with Wilson, also have fathers who represented Australia.
Les Kiss named a 33-strong squad that includes the following players. Forwards: Allan Alaalatoa, Miles Amatosero, Angus Bell, Josh Canham, Massimo de Lutiis, Tom Hooper, Isaac Kailea, Tom Lambert, Fraser McReight, Josh Nasser, Brandon Paenga-Amosa, Billy Pollard, Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, Lachlan Shaw, Carlo Tizzano, Taniela Tupou, Rob Valetini, Jeremy Williams, Harry Wilson (c). Backs: Filipo Daugunu, Ben Donaldson, Carter Gordon, Isaac Henry, Len Ikitau, Max Jorgensen, Ryan Lonergan, Tate McDermott, Declan Meredith, Hunter Paisami, Harry Potter, Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii, Teddy Wilson, Tom Wright.
Australia will play England at Twickenham's Allianz Stadium on Sunday, 8 November, before fixtures against Scotland and Wales on the subsequent weekends. They will return to Allianz Stadium on the final weekend of November for a play-off against a northern-hemisphere opponent as part of the finale of the new Nations Championship format.
