Tejasvi Dahiya says he wants to take his game to the next level

Tejasvi Dahiya said at a media interaction in New Delhi on August 17, 2026 that he wants to take his game to the next level while participating in the third edition of the Delhi Premier League.
The 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has built a reputation in the Delhi Premier League as a powerful middle-order hitter, most notably for South Delhi Superstarz in 2025 when he scored 339 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 190.45, a performance that led to an Indian Premier League contract with Kolkata Knight Riders.
Dahiya played just two matches for a struggling KKR in the summer of 2026; he described the IPL stint as motivating and said playing alongside established players offered learning opportunities he intends to apply in future outings.
He is back in the Superstarz middle order for the current DPL season and on August 15 produced an unbeaten 60 off 29 balls to help chase down a target of 218 against New Delhi Tigers, a contribution that reinforced his finishing credentials.
The report notes that increasing IPL opportunities for young players brings added pressure to perform; Dahiya said he feels privileged to be in that position and prefers to focus on improving his game rather than on the pressure itself.
While his capacity for big hits has become associated with a finisher’s role, Dahiya said he does not want to be limited to that label, adding that although he enjoys tricky closing situations he is not solely a power-hitter or finisher.
He reiterated his intention to implement lessons learned in the IPL to produce positive results for South Delhi Superstarz during the ongoing third edition of the Delhi Premier League.
