Three clubs linked with Myles Lewis-Skelly amid Arsenal summer departure talk

Myles Lewis-Skelly has been strongly linked with moves to Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid as transfer speculation surrounds the Arsenal youngster during this summer window. The left-back-turned-midfielder remains at the Emirates Stadium despite reports of potential exits and a standout showing in the FA Community Shield final win over Manchester City.
Arsenal begin their defence of the Premier League title against Coventry City and have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, signing Bruno Guimarães. The club has also sanctioned permanent departures, with Christian Norgaard and Leandro Trossard leaving. Lewis-Skelly, once regarded as one of Arsenal’s biggest youth prospects, has slipped down the pecking order within the squad.
At present Riccardo Calafiori is the preferred option at left-back for Arsenal and the arrival of Guimarães has added competition in midfield, factors that have contributed to suggestions Lewis-Skelly could move on. The player’s performance in the FA Community Shield final win over Manchester City did not end the transfer talk. Multiple media outlets have linked him with an exit this summer.
Manchester United have been the most strongly linked destination, with reports saying the Gunners have offered Lewis-Skelly to United. The Red Devils, despite signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, are described as needing reinforcement in midfield; those same reports state Lewis-Skelly would walk straight into Michael Carrick’s starting lineup while providing cover for Luke Shaw at left-back. With a move for Newcastle’s Lewis Hall appearing increasingly unlikely, United may pursue Lewis-Skelly and would “need to break the bank” to secure his signature.
Chelsea have also been offered the chance to sign Lewis-Skelly, according to multiple media reports. The Blues already possess options at left-back in Pep Chavarria and Jorrel Hato. Sources suggest that if Enzo Fernandez leaves, likely for Real Madrid, and youngsters such as Dario Essugo are loaned out, Lewis-Skelly would become one of Xabi Alonso’s first-choice names.
Real Madrid have not been in active contact this season but did make enquiries about Lewis-Skelly last season, according to the reports. The coverage adds that, having missed out on Rodri who joined Barcelona, Real Madrid “would be foolish not to look at Lewis-Skelly more seriously.”
Lewis-Skelly’s links to Manchester United and Chelsea have been emphasised across reports, and his fall from his earlier standing as a top youth prospect has been noted alongside the change in his positional role. Arsenal’s forthcoming Premier League opener against Coventry City remains the immediate fixture as these transfer discussions continue.
