Top five Indian performers in shooting at Asian Games 2026

India's shooters finished second in the shooting medal standings at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya. The contingent registered podiums across rifle, pistol and shotgun events during the tournament.
India's campaign combined individual medals with multiple team podium finishes. Neeru Dhanda accounted for two gold medals during the meet, while Rudrankksh Patil, Elavenil Valarivan and Himanshu Dhillon were among the other principal contributors. The performances spanned both individual and team events across the shooting programme.
Suruchi Singh partnered with Kamaljeet to win gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, and the duo set a new Asian Games record in the final with a score of 484.6. That victory provided India with its first shooting gold at the Games. Suruchi’s gold was a major highlight of India’s pistol campaign.
Elavenil Valarivan opened India’s shooting medal account with a silver in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event. She also helped secure silver in the women’s 10m air rifle team event alongside Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod. Her individual silver was India’s first shooting medal at the Games and gave the rifle events an early boost.
Himanshu Dhillon won silver in the men’s 10m air rifle individual competition. He then teamed with Rudrankksh Patil and Parth Mane to claim silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event. Dhillon finished the Asian Games with two medals in the men’s air rifle discipline.
Rudrankksh Patil took bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event and added silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team competition. He also won silver as part of the men’s 50m rifle three-position team with Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Niraj Kumar. Patil’s three medals made him one of India’s most decorated shooters at the Games.
Neeru Dhanda captured gold in the women’s trap individual event, becoming the first Indian woman to win Asian Games gold in that discipline. She joined Manisha Keer and Aashima Ahlawat to win silver in the women’s trap team event. Dhanda then paired with Kynan Chenai to win gold in the mixed team trap and set a new Asian Games record, finishing the meet with three medals (two gold, one silver).
India finished with 15 medals in shooting — three gold, eight silver and four bronze — placing second in the shooting medal table behind China. The 15-medal haul reflected podium results across multiple shooting disciplines at the Asian Games.
