Tottenham agree £75m deal with Manchester City for Savinho

Tottenham agreed a deal with Manchester City on 21 August 2026 to sign winger Savinho for £75m, with a further £10m in potential add-ons. The 22-year-old will have a medical before signing a long-term contract to join Spurs in north London.
Savinho joined Manchester City from French club Troyes in 2024 and his switch to Tottenham has been more than 12 months in the making. Spurs made a bid for him last summer but he opted to remain at the Etihad Stadium. His opportunities were limited under Pep Guardiola last term, making just seven Premier League starts.
Tottenham have already spent a combined £185m on midfield signings Mateus Fernandes from West Ham and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle. Those acquisitions addressed midfield before the club moved to strengthen its attacking options. Head coach Roberto de Zerbi identified the forward line as a priority following the midfield signings.
Sources told BBC Sport that talks for Savinho's City team-mate Omar Marmoush are progressing positively. Marmoush is an Egypt forward who arrived at City for £59m from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025. He fell down the pecking order at City last season.
Spurs also remain interested in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, but it is unclear whether they could finance a deal for him in addition to moves for Marmoush and Savinho. Savinho's arrival will push Tottenham's spending this summer past £300m. The club have recouped about £140m through the sales of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic.
Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign at Brentford on Saturday (17:30 BST). Manchester City host Bournemouth on Sunday (14:00 BST).
