Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand end 15-year women's doubles medal drought at World Championships

During the week of the World Championships, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand secured a historic women's doubles bronze medal.

The unseeded pair were ranked world No. 39.

Their result ended a 15-year medal drought in the discipline, dating back to Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa’s bronze in London in 2011, and preserved India’s run of securing at least one podium finish at every World Championships since 2011.
