Troy Deeney has named his Premier League team and manager of the week following the latest round of Premier League matches published on 2026-10-25. His selections for this week's XI and manager are listed below.

BBC football pundit Troy Deeney picks a team and a manager after every round of Premier League matches this season. For this installment he selected players including Zion Suzuki, Matty Cash, James Hill, Ezri Konsa, Adrien Truffert, Shea Charles, Nico Gonzalez, Marcus Tavernier, Rayan, Mathys Tel and Nicolas Jackson, and named Marco Rose as his manager of the week. The piece invites readers to comment on the choices and points to BBC Sport links for following clubs, quizzes and news alerts.

On his goalkeeper choice, Deeney said, "Fact, he's just a big-game player who gets the job done, comes up with big saves." He added that Suzuki "couldn't do anything about Erling Haaland's goal," praised his strong, positive positioning and his role in starting Aston Villa counter-attacks, and concluded, "He was excellent."

Deeney described Matty Cash's display as "like a captain's performance from the right-back" and called it "an exceptional display from him." He included James Hill and Ezri Konsa together because "they're absolutely solid" and said of both, "They're just proper defenders who defend," noting Konsa also scored. On Bournemouth's Adrien Truffert, Deeney said: "People will be talking about Manchester United and how poor they are, and is the manager going to get sacked and all of that stuff. However, if you keep playing the way that Bournemouth are, with the attacking intent, and obviously you've got a left-back who's giving you assists and shutting down people defensively, I think he deserve a little bit of credit. So, he comes into the team."

Regarding midfield, Deeney said of Shea Charles: "I didn't really want to put a Fulham player in because I thought these are games they should be winning. However, the fact that they've won at Coventry and they got a clean sheet, and Charles has been excellent since he's come from Southampton, I just thought he should go in." He also selected Nico Gonzalez, saying: "Gonzalez might be the best signing that Newcastle have made... You need someone that can just control the game, one and two touch, and Nico Gonzalez absolutely does that. I thought he was exceptional." On Marcus Tavernier he stated, "We're going to force Tavernier in as the 10," and noted Bournemouth had beaten Sunderland, AC Milan and Man Utd, scoring eight goals and conceding none in that sequence, with Tavernier among the scorers.

For the forward line Deeney picked Rayan, Mathys Tel and Nicolas Jackson. On Rayan he said he "got pace, power and could have had a hat-trick on another day," adding he still scored "against Manchester United." About Mathys Tel he observed, "Tel had a real difficult start to his career at Spurs... I thought for the first time against Chelsea we saw what Spurs saw in him: pace, power, hard work, and then obviously an unbelievable goal to to finish it as well." On Nicolas Jackson he noted: "Nicolas Jackson up top, scores two goals against Man City. He looked really good, really strong. That's seven goals for him this season, four of them in the Premier League. In that form, you're going in the team of the week."

Deeney chose Marco Rose as his manager of the week, saying: "What an unbelievable week, three big wins in eight days. He's massive in terms of showing composure. Andoni Iraola didn't do well in his first 10 games at Bournemouth, and Rose has come in and just kept a calm, calm head."
