Leeds Rhinos beat York Knights 66-16 at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium in a Super League match on 23 August 2026, scoring 12 tries including a hat-trick for Riley Lumb.

The victory returned Leeds to the top of the Super League table, leaving them ahead of Wigan Warriors on points difference, while York remain in 12th. Leeds were seeking a response after last week's shock home defeat to Leigh and produced an expansive attacking display to do so.

Riley Lumb opened the scoring with a quickfire double, the first coming after Ryan Hall's interception and counter-attack and the second after Lumb beat Jon Bennison to the ball. Lumb was then involved in the third try when Ash Handley found him on the wing and he timed a pass to Chris Hankinson, who went over untouched.

Kallum Watkins added a fourth after capitalising on a loose ball from Lachie Miller's kick, and Mikolaj Oledzki powered through three York defenders for the fifth. Cameron Smith sidestepped Knights' tacklers to feed Miller for Leeds' sixth before half-time, leaving York unable to contain Leeds' rapid attacking ball.

A Wood try was disallowed after Watkins was ruled to have been obstructed in the build-up, but early in the second half Matthew Lodge forced his way over from close range and then Sam Wood finally got York on the board by out-jumping Brodie Croft. Ryan Hall, fed by Miller, scored his ninth try of the season before Lumb completed his hat-trick; Croft, Handley and Hankinson added further Leeds scores while Jon Bennison and David Nofoaluma finished with late tries for York.
