Tyrese Hall impresses Roberto De Zerbi after training with Tottenham first team in Marbella

Tyrese Hall, the 21-year-old Jamaica international, has been impressing manager Roberto De Zerbi while training with Tottenham Hotspur’s first team during the recent international break and at the club’s warm‑weather training camp in Marbella this week.
Since arriving in North London, De Zerbi has described the supervision of young players as "very complicated" amid the team's Premier League difficulties and said he does not want to "forget them" or put the youth in a "bad situation". Spurs are still without a Premier League victory this season. Hall is a member of Tottenham’s U21 squad who operates as an attacking and central midfielder; he first played for Chelsea before joining Tottenham’s academy at the U8 level and signed a five‑year contract in the summer of 2024 running until June 2029.
Hall trained with the first team for the entire international break alongside other academy midfielders and was included in the club’s senior summer training session in Marbella. Senior management have taken note of his close involvement with the senior group, prompting his selection for this week’s warm‑weather camp. The club’s social media noted his U21 performances had impressed De Zerbi and his coaching staff and said loan and permanent moves could be considered in January.
To gain senior experience, Hall spent a loan spell at Notts County in League Two, where he made over 30 league appearances and demonstrated the ability to score goals from midfield. That period is cited as part of his pathway to regular first‑team training. His progress at Notts County contributed to Tottenham’s decision to keep him involved with senior preparations under De Zerbi.
Hall is described in club reports as a well‑rounded "number eight" with notable versatility and positional awareness. The profile attached to him highlights his tendency to drive the midfield forward, receive the ball under pressure and act as a "box crasher" who can both assist and score. Those attributes are referenced as reasons for increased first‑team exposure.
Born in England, Hall represents Jamaica at international level and has one cap for the Reggae Boyz. Media reports say De Zerbi has been impressed by his development, a factor that the club believes increases the likelihood of a first‑team competitive debut in the near future.
Hall remains part of Tottenham’s Marbella camp this week and, according to the club’s communications, could face loan or permanent options when transfer activity resumes in January.
