Updated brackets for 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic after 10/13 WWE NXT

The quarterfinals of the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic began on the October 13 edition of WWE NXT, with first-round qualifiers competing for places in the semi-finals. The card on that night included multiple matches tied to the tournament's last-16 progression.

Two tag teams received first-round byes and are scheduled to compete in the quarterfinals: The Vanity Project (the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions) and The Wagner Brothers (the AAA World Tag Team Champions). The tournament, first established in 2015 as a tribute to Dusty Rhodes, returns in 2026 after a one-year gap following the 2024 edition won by Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin. The Creed Brothers won the seventh edition in 2022. A total of 14 tag teams are competing in 2026, representing WWE’s Raw, SmackDown, NXT and Evolve brands alongside talent from AAA.

On the October 13 show, The Vanity Project defeated Mini Vikingo & Chazz ‘Starboy’ Hall to advance in the tournament. In the other match from that night, Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno beat Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) to move on in the bracket.

WWE announced two quarterfinal matches to be held on the October 20 edition of NXT: The Wagner Brothers will face Birthright, and The Creed Brothers will meet Hank & Tank. The October 20 broadcast will also feature a singles match between Cruz Montana and Dion Lennox and is slated to conclude the tournament’s quarterfinal round.

The Wagner Brothers are identified in the bracket as El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno del Mal; Birthright’s members are Lexis King & Charlie Dempsey. The Creed Brothers are listed as Julius & Brutus Creed, while Hank & Tank appear as Hank Walker & Tank Ledger in the announced line-ups.

The quarterfinal stage of the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will conclude on the October 20 edition of WWE NXT, which will host the two announced quarterfinal matches and the Cruz Montana vs Dion Lennox singles bout.
