Usain Bolt listed in Wythenshawe FC Veterans squad after name appears on FA Full‑Time site

Usain Bolt appears set to turn out for Wythenshawe FC Veterans in Greater Manchester after his name appeared on the Football Association’s Full-Time website on 21 August 2026. The eight-time Olympic champion is listed alongside a squad that includes several former Premier League players.
Bolt still holds the world records for the 100 metres and 200m and, at 40 years old, remains a prominent sporting figure. After retiring following the World Championships in 2017 he attempted to build a professional football career and briefly played for the Australian side Central Coast Mariners. An ardent Manchester United supporter, the Jamaican has been a regular participant in the Soccer Aid charity matches over the past decade.
Wythenshawe FC Veterans currently play in the Cheshire Veterans League and field a side composed largely of former top-level professional footballers. The club’s online squad list is hosted on the Football Association’s Full-Time platform. Their roster has drawn attention because of the number of ex-professionals involved.
The team is managed by Stephen Ireland, the former Manchester City and Republic of Ireland midfielder. Danny Drinkwater, Antonio Valencia, Joleon Lescott, Emile Heskey, Marc Albrighton, Nedum Onuoha and Papiss Cissé are among the well-known names to have turned out for the side. Last season Wythenshawe’s squad had more than 1,800 English top-flight appearances between them.
Wythenshawe have yet to announce Bolt’s signing. The club have been contacted for comment.
