Vaishnavi Sharma takes five to help India clinch third ODI against Zimbabwe

Vaishnavi Sharma took five wickets for India in the third One-Day International against Zimbabwe at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi on October 30, 2026. Her haul followed a four-wicket performance in the second match a few days earlier, the report filed from Vadodara noted.
Vaishnavi made her T20I debut for India in 2025 against Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam, where she went wicketless but conceded only 16 runs in her four-over spell. After that game she was snapped sheepishly skirting around the press conference room. “Jis baat ka dar tha, wahi hua mere saath (What I feared has happened to me),” a nervous Vaishnavi had told the BCCI videoperson tailing players for their post-match vlog.
Almost a year and seven India fixtures later, Vaishnavi remained visibly nervous as she entered the sprawling but sparsely populated media room at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi. She had just produced a five-wicket haul that helped India clinch the third ODI against Zimbabwe.
The five-wicket performance came days after she took four wickets in the second fixture, a sequence that raised her international wicket tally. She now has 14 wickets in international cricket.

Almost a year on from her debut in Visakhapatnam in 2025 and seven India fixtures later, Vaishnavi’s back-to-back multi-wicket displays — four in the second ODI and five in the third — have yielded 14 international wickets.
