Virat Kohli unveils new left-arm tattoo as sleeve rework continues

Virat Kohli has added a new tattoo to his left arm, with photographs of the artwork circulating on social media in a report dated August 30, 2026. The addition comes as part of an ongoing rework of his left-arm tattoos that began before the start of IPL 2026.

Kohli’s batting exploits and personal style have long made him a recognisable figure, and his body art has been a visible element of his public persona. Rather than removing or covering his earlier designs, he opted to restore and refine them with the aim of unifying the various elements into a single sleeve that reflects his present-day journey.

The new piece sits around his left bicep among his existing tattoos and appears to depict ripples spreading across a water surface after a single drop falls into it. Images of the tattoo were posted by the Instagram account 'Allan F Gois' and quickly caught the attention of fans online.

The transformation began with a redesign of his Shiva-inspired armband, the work giving that motif greater detail and definition. That armband now flows into an intricate dotwork mandala, which has been used as a focal point to connect different elements across the arm.

The overall design is said to represent ideas of balance, focus and inner harmony, and higher up the arm motifs including a lotus and peony have been incorporated. Those floral images are described in the report as commonly linked with perseverance and personal growth, while the deeper significance of the individual elements has been deliberately kept private.

According to the post accompanying the pictures, the work has taken five sessions so far and is still being completed.
