Vortex and Zayyan excel in Pune morning exercises
Vortex and Zayyan excelled when horses were exercised in Pune on Sunday (Sept. 27) morning. Zayyan posted 1200m figures of 1-20 with splits 1000/1-5, 800/50 and 600/37, while Vortex recorded 1600m 1-47 after starting two lengths behind and finishing one length ahead.
Morning gallops at the Pune session covered distances from 600m up to 1600m, with trainers recording split times, finishing margins and brief performance notes. Riders and handlers described several horses as Easy or noted they Moved freely, while others were Pressed, Urged or Slightly urged in parts of their work. The exercise list recorded each horse alongside its rider and the specific timed markers used to assess the runs. The session produced a range of outcomes across the distances tested.
At 600m, Regina Memorabilis (Neeraj) was marked Easy, Ocean Of Love (S.J. Sunil) recorded 39 and was noted as Moved freely, and Invincible Force (Peter) posted 41 with the note Easy. Other 600m performers included Remy Red (Aditya) 54, 600/41 and described as Slightly urged; Amelia Earhart (S. Kamble) 54, 600/40 and Moved freely; and Heaven’s Rhythm (Saurav) 56, 600/42 with the assessment Easy.
The 800m section listed Angelisa (Kirtish) 56, 600/41 and described as Easy; Esconido (Mosin) and We Still Believe (Bhawani) 55, 600/40 recorded as Pair level; Gunfire (Gore) 52, 600/37 and Moved well; Golden Gun (S.J. Sunil) and Star Dream (Peter) 51, 600/38 with the former finishing four lengths ahead. Additional 800m works included Undercover (C. Umesh) 51, 600/37 Moved well; Scorcher (T.S. Jodha) and Riff (P. Vinod) 52, 600/38 with Scorcher finishing a distance ahead; Koenigsegg (Shahrukh) 52, 600/39 Pressed; and Avante (Dashrath) 51, 600/38 Moved well.
In the 1000m category Pyrite (Mosin) recorded 1-9, 800/54, 600/40 and was described as Worked freely; Casspian (Kaviraj) and Sixty Four Squares (app) both posted 1-8, 800/53, 600/39 with Casspian having started three lengths behind and finishing level. Myrina (A. Prakash) and Naledi (Vivek G) registered 1-6, 800/5, 600/39 with Myrina finishing four lengths ahead; Nebula (T.S. Jodha) 1-9, 800/53, 600/39 Worked well; and Starbuster (T.S. Jodha) 1-8, 800/52, 600/38 was Urged in the last part.
The 1200m group featured Margaretta (Vivek G) 1-23, 1000/1-8, 800/52, 600/38 described as Good; Wise Approach (J. Chinoy) and Bright Button (Neeraj) 1-22, 1000/1-7, 800/52, 600/39 with the former finishing five lengths ahead. Immortal Star (S.J. Sunil) and Gunsmoke (Peter) posted 1-20, 1000/1-5, 800/51, 600/39 with Immortal Star finishing four lengths ahead, and Zayyan (Vivek G) recorded 1-20, 1000/1-5, 800/50, 600/37 and was noted to have Excelled.
At the longer distances Namiri (Kirtish) and Shaandaar (Vivek G) produced 1-53, 1400/1-37, 1200/1-21, 1000/1-7, 800/52, 600/38 with Namiri four lengths superior, while Alexios (Antony Raj) posted 1-37, 1200/1-22, 1000/1-7, 800/53, 600/40 and Responded well to the urgings. Manuel (Vivek G) returned 1-38, 1200/1-22, 1000/1-6, 800/51, 600/38 and was Pressed in the last part; in the 1600m Vortex (Zeeshan) and Dash (Aditya) recorded 1-47, 1400/1-33, 1200/1-19, 1000/1-5, 800/52, 600/39 with Vortex starting two lengths behind and easily finishing one length ahead, while Dream Alliance (J. Chinoy) posted 1-51, 1400/1-36, 1200/1-22, 1000/1-8, 800/54, 600/42 and was Pressed.
