Warrington Wolves reach Super League Grand Final with win over Leeds at Headingley

Warrington Wolves beat Leeds Rhinos at AMT Headingley Stadium in the Betfred Super League play-off semi-final on 25 September 2026 to reach the Grand Final. Luke Yates' first-half try and a penalty converted by 18-year-old Ewan Irwin were among the decisive moments in the match.

Warrington have reached their first Super League Grand Final in eight years. Both sides traded two first-half tries and the teams were level 12-12 at the break. Luke Yates' try just before half-time was pivotal in Warrington's win. For Leeds, Hall and Connor scored the tries with Connor adding two goals; Warrington's tries came from Bentley and Yates and Irwin kicked three goals.

A contentious penalty was awarded to Warrington in the second half and was slotted nervelessly by 18-year-old Ewan Irwin. Half-back Jake Connor finished with 10 points for an injury-depleted Rhinos, having produced a first-half try he created in midfield. Connor then attempted a goal kick from 62 metres out with the final play of the game but the ball landed short of the sticks.

Leeds named F. McCormack at full-back with Lumb, N. McCormack, Newman and Hall in the outside backs; Croft partnered Connor in the halves; Oledzki, O'Connor, Lodge, Watkins, McDonnell and Palasia completed the pack. Interchanges for Leeds were Holroyd, Jenkins, Smith and Cassell. Warrington started Josh Thewlis; Hopoate, Lindop, King and Ashton; Williams and Irwin in the halves; Byrne, Walker, Harrison, Bentley, Stone and Currie in the forwards, with Yates, Powell, Philbin and Tanginoa listed as interchanges.

Warrington will face the winners of either Wigan Warriors or Wakefield Trinity in the showpiece final at Old Trafford next Saturday, leaving them one win away from a first league title since 1955.
