WPL 2027 auction: 146 players shortlisted for Kochi sale, Dunkley and Molineux top base price

The list of players shortlisted for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction has been released; the auction is scheduled for Kochi on October 28, 2026, with 146 players competing for 27 available slots.
The WPL has provided a platform for young Indian talent to play alongside international stars and gain experience at a higher level. The tournament has helped several young players earn places in the Indian team, while experienced cricketers have been able to share knowledge with younger teammates. Franchises use the auction to address squad weaknesses and assemble teams capable of contesting the title. Preparations for the WPL 2027 season are underway, with the player list announced ahead of the auction.
The shortlist comprises 119 Indian players and 27 overseas players. Among the Indian entries, 22 are capped and 97 are uncapped. The overseas contingent features 14 capped and 13 uncapped players, including six from Associate Nations.
Some well-known names on the WPL 2027 auction list include G. Kamalini, Sophie Molineux and Jess Jonassen. Both Indian and overseas players will be looking for an opportunity to play in the upcoming WPL 2027 season. Teams will use the auction to bring in new players and address specific squad shortcomings ahead of the tournament.
England’s Sophia Dunkley and Australia’s Sophie Molineux have registered at the highest base price of ₹50 lakh for the WPL 2027 auction. The shortlisting of 146 players sets the field for the Kochi auction where franchises will fill 27 available roster spots.
