WPL 2027: Mumbai Indians complete squad after Kochi auction with Harmanpreet Kaur and Disha Kasat

Mumbai Indians finalised their squad for the Women’s Premier League 2027 at the player auction held in Kochi on October 28, 2026; Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the side and the franchise added six uncapped Indian players, including Disha Kasat.
The fifth edition of the WPL saw all five franchises strengthen their squads at the auction, which produced the highest bid of ₹1.10 crore when Australia’s Sophie Molineux was bought by UP Warriorz. Mumbai Indians are two-time WPL champions but failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2026 season, prompting changes to their roster.
Operating with a limited purse of ₹90 lakh, Mumbai targeted emerging domestic talent and focused auction spending on several young Indians. The franchise signed six players at the ₹10 lakh base price as part of that strategy.
Mumbai opened their auction business by signing uncapped Indian batter Disha Kasat for ₹10 lakh; they also acquired wicketkeeper-batter Latika Inamdar, spinner Bharti Rawal, Sanika Chalke, Shweta Sehrawat and all-rounder Akshita Bhagat at the same price.
Retained players and the trade signing for Mumbai Indians are listed as: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Amanjot Kaur, Rahila Firdous, S Sajana, Sanskriti Gupta, Vaishnavi Sharma, Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Nicola Carey, Shabnim Ismail and Tara Norris (traded from UP Warriorz).
Mumbai showed interest in Kiran Navgire during the auction, but Delhi Capitals secured the Indian batter for ₹75 lakh.
Mumbai Indians’ final 18-player squad comprises Harmanpreet Kaur, Amanjot Kaur, Rahila Firdous, S Sajana, Sanskriti Gupta, Vaishnavi Sharma, Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Nicola Carey, Shabnim Ismail, Tara Norris, Disha Kasat, Latika Inamdar, Bharti Rawal, Sanika Chalke, Shweta Sehrawat and Akshita Bhagat; the WPL 2027 season is scheduled to begin on January 14, 2027.
