Royal Challengers Bengaluru finalised a 17-player squad at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction held in Kochi on October 28.
The auction in Kochi saw all five franchises make additions, signing a mixture of Indian and overseas players while offering opportunities to several uncapped cricketers. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, led by Smriti Mandhana, entered the auction with a purse of ₹1.15 crore and five available slots after retaining 13 players. The franchise made four signings at the auction, spending ₹1.10 crore to bolster depth across batting and all-round options.
Australian all-rounder Jess Jonassen was RCB’s most expensive signing, joining for ₹40 lakh. Bengaluru also acquired South African all-rounder Chloe Tryon for ₹30 lakh. The team signed Indian batters Tejal Hasabnis for ₹30 lakh and Vrinda Dinesh for ₹10 lakh.
Chloe Tryon was noted as adding another batting and bowling option to the squad, with her left-arm spin providing additional support. The four acquisitions comprised two overseas all-rounders and two Indian batters, matching the franchise’s stated aim of increasing squad depth.
