WTA Singapore Open 2026: Prize money, key seeds and withdrawals at OCBC Arena

A star-studded field is set to descend on the WTA Singapore Open 2026 at Singapore’s OCBC Arena as the season winds down, with Mirra Andreeva heading the draw following Jessica Pegula’s withdrawal. The top four seeds — Andreeva, Amanda Anisimova, Alexandra Eala and Elise Mertens — have all received opening-round byes.

The event has been upgraded to a WTA 500 after returning to the calendar as a WTA 250 last season and forms part of the WTA’s Asian swing alongside the Korean Open and the WTA 1000 events in Beijing and Wuhan. Singapore has previous high-profile hosting experience, having staged the WTA Finals between 2014 and 2018, and the tournament will take place at the OCBC Arena as the tour moves through the late-season schedule.

Following Pegula’s withdrawal, the tournament’s seeding shifted with Andreeva elevated to lead the field; Pegula reached the US Open semi-finals for the second consecutive year in New York and climbed to a career-high World Ranking of No. 3. Several other players have also left the entry list, with Diana Shnaider, Sorana Cîrstea, Sara Bejlek, Clara Tauson and Ekaterina Alexandrova among those who have joined the exodus from the WTA 500 event.

Andreeva and Mertens head the top half of the draw and are seeded to meet in the semi-finals, a match that could be preceded by a third meeting this season — and their fifth overall — between Andreeva and Fernandez. All four of the highest seeds starting in later rounds increases the likelihood of seeded matchups in the tournament’s latter stages.

In the bottom half, Anisimova and Eala occupy the top two seeded positions; Anisimova holds a 1-0 head-to-head lead over Eala, though the pairing is expected to be competitive. Fifth seed Maja Chwalińska is placed in Andreeva’s section of the draw, while Maria Sakkari and Donna Vekić provide additional depth in the bottom half.

The singles champion will receive $185,500 and the runner-up $114,500, with the doubles champions earning $61,540 and the runners-up $37,400; the tournament’s total prize money is $1,206,446. No Indian players are competing in the WTA Singapore Open 2026.
