WWE NXT preview: Orlando show follows Heatwave fallout (September 1, 2026)

WWE NXT returns to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, on September 1, 2026, with an episode shaped by the sweeping title changes at NXT Heatwave. The show is positioned to address the aftermath of those shifts as the brand moves toward Halloween Havoc.

Nearly every title on the line at the premium live event changed hands. Grayson Waller finally captured the NXT Championship, Kelani Jordan dethroned Kendal Grey to become the new NXT Women’s Champion, the Vanity Project reclaimed the NXT Tag Team Championship, and Zaria successfully unified the Women’s North American and Women’s Speed titles. The only question now is how the roster responds.

Topping the card is a grudge match born out of last week’s chaos. Shiloh Hill was on the verge of becoming the No. 1 contender to the NXT North American Championship against Jackson Drake before Naraku interfered, blasting him with mist to cost him the match. Hill gets his shot at payback tonight, with a step toward a future title opportunity still very much in play.

Elsewhere, Nikkita Lyons squares off with Thea Hail in a women’s singles clash, while Mason Rook and Kam Hendrix collide in more midcard action.
