WWE reported to be set on signing Scott Steiner’s son Brock Rechsteiner despite NFL suspension

Brock Rechsteiner, son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner and cousin of Bron Breakker, was reported by Fightful Select on August 9, 2026 to be a near-certain WWE target despite receiving a six-game suspension to start the 2026 NFL regular season.

Rechsteiner is an undrafted rookie wide receiver with the New Orleans Saints who was suspended for the first six games of the 2026 regular season for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. Fightful Select said a WWE executive expressed interest in signing him when he joined the Saints and indicated the suspension would not alter those plans. The report added that WWE officials have monitored Rechsteiner since his college days and the promotion is prepared to sign him directly rather than require a tryout.

The WrestleMania-era connection between Rechsteiner and WWE has been mutual: the report noted Rechsteiner has voiced interest in pursuing a career with WWE when the opportunity arises. That interest follows public comments made by his father; Scott Steiner told Busted Open Radio in early 2026 that WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque offered Brock a WWE Next In Line deal (NIL) deal.

If Rechsteiner ultimately transitions to wrestling, he would join his cousin Bron Breakker as an active member of the Steiner family on WWE programming and, the report added, "would be an intriguing addition to the roster."

A WWE higher-up told Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that there is a "99.9 percent chance" Rechsteiner will receive an offer from WWE once his NFL career comes to an end.
