WWE rumoured to plan Naomi return as Worlds Collide set opposite AEW Dynamite; Bleacher Report deal announced

The Stamford-based WWE is reported on September 29, 2026 to be preparing a Naomi return, planning to air its Worlds Collide special at 7 PM ET on Wednesday opposite AEW Dynamite, and has announced a new multi-year content partnership with Bleacher Report.

According to False Finish, the promotion is “currently preparing for a Naomi return in the near future.” Naomi announced her pregnancy on the August 18, 2025 episode of Monday Night Raw and vacated the Women’s World Championship ahead of a scheduled defense against Iyo Sky at the 2025 edition of Clash in Paris. Her most recent in-ring appearance came on Night 2 of SummerSlam 2025, when she defended the World title in a triple threat match against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky.

Dave Meltzer, in The Daily Update, reported WWE is currently still planning to air its Worlds Collide special at 7 PM ET on Wednesday directly opposite AEW Dynamite, which is now planned as a tribute show for Benjamin Satterley, aka PAC (Neville in WWE), who passed away this past weekend. Meltzer added that the Worlds Collide schedule had been set before Satterley’s death and that some within the Stamford-based promotion are hoping the company reconsiders airing the special at that time.

Worlds Collide was taped on Saturday at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, and went head-to-head with AEW All Out, which also emanated from Chicago. Reports noted WWE chose not to broadcast Worlds Collide live in an effort to affect AEW All Out ticket sales in the Chicago area.

WWE announced a multi-year content partnership with Bleacher Report that will bring WWE moments, Superstars and stories to B/R’s global sports audience, and gives Bleacher Report global rights to WWE highlights from Raw, SmackDown, NXT and Premium Live Events. Fightful Select reported a source within WBD believes the new partnership could ultimately benefit AEW by allowing WBD to dedicate more resources toward wrestling, and that the deal is not expected to have any impact on AEW’s current television extension discussions, which are not anticipated to take place for some time.

AEW remains under contract with WBD through 2027, with WBD holding an option for 2028, and PWInsider reported the Bleacher Report agreement will not have any effect on what the promotion posts on YouTube.
