Tonight's September 25 edition of WWE SmackDown will air live from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, featuring CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, Gunther, and Trick Williams. Trick Williams will defend the United States title once again against Baron Corbin in a Steel Cage match, and qualifying matches for the men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches will continue with two spots left.

With less than three weeks until WWE Money in the Bank, the show carries stakes for wrestlers seeking ladder-match qualification. The 2026 edition of Money in the Bank is set for October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The show’s advertised lineup includes the listed featured superstars alongside the scheduled qualifying bouts.

The Steel Cage encounter will see Trick Williams put the United States title on the line against Baron Corbin. The feud that kicked off with Corbin’s attack on his return has since transformed into a longstanding rivalry, which is the narrative underpinning their match.

In the fifth men's qualifying match for Money in the Bank, Finn Bálor, CM Punk, and Gunther will compete for the fifth spot in the Money in the Bank match. The winner of that contest will secure the remaining men's place in the ladder match at Money in the Bank.

On the women's side, Giulia, Charlotte Flair, and Lash Legend will face off for the fifth and final spot in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match. The winner of that triple threat will earn a place at Money in the Bank in New Orleans.
